Suffolk theme park Pleasurewood Hills has been recognised as one of the region’s most dedicated employers after scooping two accolades at this year’s Jobcentre Plus Awards for the East of England.
Pleasurewood Hills was announced as Employer of the Year on account of the park’s outstanding contribution to recruitment, particularly using Jobcentre Plus services and initiatives to recruit and support new team members. The park also picked up the Diversity in Action award which praises employers who have shown an innovative and inclusive approach to recruiting.
Pleasurewood Hills recruit James Suckling is one example of how the Suffolk theme park works closely with staff members to nurture their talent. James has a form of autism, which can affect aspects of his daily working life. A patient, sensitive and understanding handling of James’ recruitment also meant that Pleasurewood Hills stood out for its dedication to improving his confidence, and as a result he’s a hard working asset to the team.
